Ollie Jackson

Ollie was born in California, Missouri, and as a member of the Army, first came to the Fort Leonard Wood/Waynesville area in 1965 as the commander of an Advanced Individual Training Company. As a member of the military, he returned to the Fort Leonard Wood/Waynesville area on two other occasions. In 1969 as a Brigade Operations Officer and in 1976 as a Training Developer. After 20 years of Army service, he retired from the military in 1988, having obtained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.

Following military retirement, Ollie entered Federal Civil Service at Fort Belvoir Virginia, coming back to Waynesville with the move of the Engineer School. At that time, Ollie made Waynesville his home, and began his nvolvement with the Waynesville/St.Robert/Fort Leonard Wood Community. After 20 years of Federal Service, he again retired in 2001.

Ollie began his service to the board of Good Samaritan of the Ozarks in 1997. He served as President of the Board from 2002 to 2014. He also presently serves on the Phelps County Regional Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors, is a member of the Pulaski County Senior Citizen Fund board, and is a member of the City of Waynesville Industrial Development Authority. He is a long time member of the Rotary Club of Pulaski County, and a past Ambassador of the Waynesville/St. Robert Chamber
of Commerce.

He was selected as the 2013 Chamber of Commerce,
Citizen of the year.
