Q. Who does Good Samaritan of the Ozarks help?
A. Good Samaritan of the Ozarks was established to provide emergency services to residents of Pulaski County and the surrounding area. Some emergency services include safe shelter and supportive services at Genesis, food, and limited financial assistance as well as help for disaster victims.
Q. Who can purchase from the thrift store?
A. Anyone may make purchases from the thrift store. All money raised from the thrift store sales goes back into the Food Pantry & Resource Center and Genesis: A Place of New Beginnings (serves Survivors of domestic, sexual and trafficking violence).
Q. What items can be purchased from the thrift store?
A. The thrift store always has a little bit of everything: From clothing, household items, electronics, home repair items, shoes, furniture, and toys to the occasional automobile. You just have to keep checking back to see what’s new!
Q. Who can receive food from the food pantry?
A. Anyone in need of food in Pulaski County or surrounding areas may apply. Some programs require proof of income and number of household members.
Q. What are USDA distributions?
A. USDA distributions are government issued food given to individuals who qualify according to their income guidelines. You must bring the same documentation needed to receive emergency food and fill out a short application to receive this service.
Q. How do I donate? What type of donations does Good Samaritan accept?
A. Donations to our thrift stores are received during the following stores hours only: In Waynesville Monday through Saturday from 10am-3pm and in Richland Tuesday through Saturday from 10am-3pm. Pick up is available depending on the type of donation. Please call the store nearest you for more information. We accept donations of gently used items that are free from stains, tears, odors and that are undamaged. We cannot accept any non-working electrical items, old television sets (working or not) or car seats. Mattresses are only accepted if in excellent or new condition!

Q. Can I receive a tax reciept for my donation?
A. Yes! Please ask the cashier for a receipt for any items that are donated. In addition, if you make a monetary donation to Genesis you can recieve a 70% Missouri State tax credit!
